On November 2nd, join the American Heart Association when it presents the Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk! The 2019 Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk will feature several hundred individual walkers and local community teams taking steps to improve their heart health while raising funds and awareness for the American Heart Association in its fight against cardiovascular diseases.
The Heart Walk includes a family-friendly 3-mile walk, CPR demonstration, live entertainment, and more. Participation is free and walkers who raise money are eligible for prizes. Each year, more than 1 million walkers participate in nearly 350 Heart Walk events in cities across the country.
By participating in the Heart Walk, you’re joining one million Heart Walk Heroes from across the nation raising funds for lifesaving science that can teach us all how to live longer and be Healthy For Good. All proceeds from these events go toward the American Heart Association’s research, education, and outreach programs.
From humble beginnings, the American Heart Association has grown into the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. AHA’s mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they cause disability and diminish the quality of life. AHA wants to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Help keep hearts everywhere beating when you take steps to cure heart disease and stroke. To register for the American Heart Association’s Greater Lake Houston Heart Walk, please visit www2.heart.org.
